Working together we can achieve our best

Values and Ethos

At Wild Bank Community School we are ambitious about inspiring learning, improving wellbeing and increasing opportunity.

Inspiring Learning

Our vision is to ensure that all children:

  • Strive to be the best they can be and are well-prepared for the next phase of their education
  • Have a love for learning, a thirst for knowledge and a desire to succeed
  • Are curious, articulate, confident, independent and show perseverance and resilience; achieving their full potential in all aspects of the curriculum and their life
  • Are lifelong learners by creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that nurtures individuality and enhances potential.

Improving Wellbeing

Our vision is to ensure that all children:

  • Develop their self-belief, self-respect and self-confidence
  • Are nurtured, kept safe and valued as individuals
  • Have the confidence to speak out and be proud of who they are
  • Have the ability to reflect on their actions and understand the needs of others, showing kindness.
  • Are confident individuals who are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives

 Increasing Opportunity

Our vision is to ensure that all children:

  • Have high aspirations and happy memories through the experiences we provide
  • Are ready for the real world, empowered to participate successfully at an academic, social and emotional level in a rapidly changing world.
  • Are responsible and caring citizens who make a positive contribution to society.
  • Share a sense of family, respect and show empathy towards others and care for the wider community.

At Wild Bank, our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident and happy citizens. Our values are for all our children to SPARKLE by showing positive

Self-belief, Perseverance, Aspiration, Respect, Kindness, Love and Empathy

Self-belief to have the confidence in their own skin, abilities and judgements

Perseverance to push themselves to work through challenges, overcoming difficulties on the way

Aspiration through building a strong desire to achieve

Respect by valuing the worth of others as well as being heard and knowing that someone cares enough to listen

Kindness by being thoughtful and considerate

Love by feeling safe and secure and knowing that those around them care

Empathy by demonstrating the ability to understand or feel what another person is experiencing

Over the next three years, we aim to embed current practice and introduce new initiatives which enable our children to continue acquiring learning skills which stay with them for life. We will continue to provide a learning environment which is safe, secure and enriched for pupils and staff, enabling all to participate, question and experiment, so that they are confident to take risks and make mistakes in their learning to allow them to progress.

As a one form entry primary school we feel that it is essential to work with others to ensure that we take advantage of their experience and know-how and keep up with best practice. This will entail working with other schools within the Victorious Academies Trust, our cluster, with Tameside and beyond.

We place great emphasis on the mental health and wellbeing of our children, staff and wider school community and have been instrumental in the development of the Tameside Mental Health in Schools Network as area Lead in the promotion relevant training and development of a Whole School Approach to mental health and wellbeing.

We are committed to working with our community and services within our community to ensure that we do not work alone. We value the partnership that exists between our parents, carers, pupils, staff and governors and strongly believe that working together we can achieve our best and ensure the children at Wild Bank experience the best possible start in life.
